TikTok is releasing a new NFT collection for the app, “TikTok Top Moments.” The first release in this series will include collectibles from Lil Nas X. The launch will take place in October.
The first series will feature six TikTok videos as one-of-a-kind NFTs. And a collection of limited-edition tokens inspired by cultural moments from TikTok. Each token is a digital asset that gives ownership through distributed blockchain technology.
Lil Nas X Will be First Artist to Have TikTok NFT
Lil Nas X will be the first artist to have a one-of-a-kind and limited edition TikTok NFTs. Yet, he will feature Rudy Willingham. The launch will go live on October 6th.
The Lil Nas X TikTok NFT will have Rudy Willingham’s famous stop-motion video of the artist’s “Montero.” Each of the 81 frames of the TikTok video features Willingham’s signature cutouts. Furthermore, the cutouts are nicely taken on a backdrop that “reflects a section of Lil Nas X’s genius.” According to TikTok.
Other creators releasing TikTok NFTs are Brittany Broski, Curtis Roach, Bella Poarch, Jess, FNMeka, and Gary Vaynerchuk, who partner with NFT artists, including Coin Artist, Grimes, x0r, and RTFKT.
The limited-edition NFTs will be running on Immutable X. . The first carbon-neutral Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. Besides, the single edition of NFT is available on the Ethereum blockchain.
You can expect a series of weekly drops to take place on Immutable’s site through the end of this month. After that, you’ll be able to mint NFTs and trade them for X.
Proceeds Will go to Charity
The proceeds of the NFT sales will be going to artists, creators, with some taken to charities. This is according to TikTok.
“As the creator economy continues to grow, we’re looking for new ways to support our creators,” said Nick Tran, TikTok’s global head of marketing. “Now, fans can own a moment on TikTok that helped shape the internet while supporting some of their favourite creators.”
The interactive series “Infinite Duets: Co-Creating on TikTok” will be from October 1st to November 5th. The event will happen at the Museum Of Moving Image in Queens, NY. Additionally, they will present each TikTok video in the first collection.
There are two single-edition NFTs in “TikTok Top Moments,” which will include. CurtisRoach’s Bored in the House quarantine anthem with an NFT created by Coin Artist. And a collaboration between robot rapper FNMeka and virtual shoe. Or collectible creator RTFKT that features real-life brothers Brandon & Chris Le. Gary Vaynerchuk, Virtual CEO of MyBPM who has millions of subscribers on Tik Tok. There is also one from musician Bella Poarch + Grimes.
