Top 3 JP Morgan Executives Quit to Join Cryptocurrency Firms

JP Morgan is losing top talents to cryptocurrency firms despite the ongoing sluggishness of the bear market. Three top-level JP Morgan executives, Eric Wragge, Puja Samuel, and Samir Shah, left the financial institution to work in the crypto sector.

1. JP Morgan’s Executive, Eric Wragge Joins Web3 Cryptocurrency Firm

Eric Wragge, the former Managing Director at JP Morgan, joined Web3 firm Algorand Foundation. Wragge is now the head of the Web3 firm’s investment committee and will lead global initiatives and strategic partnerships.

“Coming from a leading global investment bank, I understand the uncompromising performance requirements for a Layer 1 blockchain to compete against and improve upon many aspects of traditional finance,” Wragge said in a release.

2. Puja Samuel Joins Digital Currency Group

Puja Samuel, the Head of Ideation at JP Morgan, has joined Digital Currency Group as the Head Of Corporate Development. Digital Currency Group is the parent company of CoinDesk and investment firm Grayscale.

Most importantly, she confirmed the job change on her LinkedIn profile yesterday. “I am thrilled to share that I have started with the Digital Currency Group as Head of Corporate Development.”

Moreover, Samuel called the crypto sphere a “driving change” across the financial system. “I am excited to help build out new strategic partnerships alongside an energized team that is driving change across the financial system,” she wrote.

She also thanked her former colleagues at JP Morgan and wished them the best. “I wish to thank my former colleagues at JP Morgan for an amazing and extremely fulfilling three years.”

3. Samir Shah Joins Pantera Capital as COO

Samir Shah, former Head of Asset Management Sales at JP Morgan, has joined Pantera Capital as Chief Operating Officer (COO). He confirmed the job shift on LinkedIn yesterday in a note saying he’s excited to start a new professional chapter.

“After 12 fantastic years with JP Morgan, it is bittersweet for me to share that I will be starting a new professional chapter. I am thrilled to share that I will be joining Pantera Capital as Chief Operating Officer,” he wrote.
