U.S. Citizens’ Bitcoin Rights Will Be ‘Inviolable’: Robert Kennedy Jr

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been a vocal Bitcoin proponent. Time and again, he has signaled his support for the largest crypto asset. Through a recent tweet, the 2024 presidential candidate assured Americans,

“As president, I will make sure that your right to use and hold Bitcoin is inviolable.”

Bitcoin is a defense against money supply manipulation: Kennedy

Kennedy further labeled Bitcoin to be a “bulwark against totalitarianism and the manipulation of our money supply.” According to him, the asset also “points the way toward a future in which government institutions are more transparent and more democratic.”

Moreover, Kennedy has assured citizens that he will make sure that America has policies that “support Bitcoin,” if he becomes president. He also envisioned “freedom” in transactions. In a recent interview, he highlighted the essence of managing own Bitcoin wallets, nodes, and passwords. He told that he’d “allow only the narrowest controls that are necessary to prevent money laundering.”

In fact, Kennedy is the first presidential candidate to accept campaign donations in Bitcoin. He deemed the digital asset to be more than a currency. According to him, it is an “exercise in democracy.” In fact, he recently also asserted that Bitcoin provided an escape route to the public for when the “bubble invariable bursts.” 

Nevertheless, when it comes to CBDCs, the presidential candidate is on a totally different page. He recently branded them to be “instruments of control and oppression, and are certain to be abused.” In fact, in the past, he has also warned that a digital currency issued by the central bank will bring “financial slavery.”
