Swinging through the crypto jungle, apes have become a big hit. ApeCoin [APE], an asset recently rolled out by Yuga Labs, seems to be creating quite an uproar in the market. APE was probably the fastest-listed crypto by prominent exchanges. Now, as the fervor around the coin persists, the community believes that Robinhood would soon be smitten by the ape.

Robinhood’s interest in crypto became a significant topic of discussion. The Shiba Inu [SHIB] community undoubtedly had a lot to contribute to this. As the trading platform welcomed four more assets into its crypto portfolio, speculation of upcoming additions began making rounds. ApeCoin was a frontrunner.

While Robinhood hasn’t affirmed the inclusion of ApeCoin, the community was convinced that the ape would soon follow the dog.

Shiba Inu, Solana [SOL], Polygon [MATIC], Compound [COMP], the recently included assets bagged significant gains following the news. Apecoin, on the other hand, was already pocketing profits. Mostly, due to speculation.

APE, at press time, was trading for $13.08 with a 6 percent surge over the last couple of hours. The entire week went seemingly well for the asset as it soared by 22 percent.

ApeCoin’s social volume peaks

Amidst the rumors about Robinhood embracing ApeCoin, the altcoin steered right below the social spotlight. All eyes were on APE. Throughout the week, the coin managed to amass a total of 11,120 mentions while its social engagement peaked at 37,048,359.

Furthermore, the weekly social volume of ApeCoin was up by 14.7 percent and social engagement by nearly 50 percent.

Along with this, Ethereum [ETH] whales were seen splurging on the altcoin. Over the last couple of days, whales have been increasingly purchasing ApeCoin. The possible Robinhood listing could certainly boost the altcoin’s price, and the whales were likely preparing for the big surge.

Earlier today, an ETH whale called “BlueWhale0098” carried out a significant purchase of 87,500 APE worth $1,120,000.
