BAYC announced the release of the first tech demo of its upcoming Otherside metaverse on July 16. The long-awaited Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) Metaverse, the Otherside mint, dropped on April 30.
Since they teased the teaser on March 19, the BAYC metaverse has been buzzing with anticipation and intrigue. Now the team has announced that the BAYC/MAYC holders will be taken on their first Voyagers trip on July 16. The team also announced that the claim window would close by 11:59 pm ET tonight.
The BAYC team is trying to create the same intrigue with this announcement as the Bored Ape community will be bracing themselves up for this first tech demo.
BAYC ‘Otherside’ Metaverse was a million-dollar success
When the ‘Otherside’ of the Bored Ape Yacht Club Metaverse went live, the investors went ‘Apes’ over it. The ‘Otherside’ event at BAYC Metaverse was the most talked-about and hyped event in the NFT-sphere. The grass is always greener on the other side, as the expression goes, and investors thought that BAYC’s plots were a good investment.
The BAYC Metaverse Otherside was regarded as the most successful NFT sale in history. Furthermore, plots in the Otherside Metaverse were auctioned for roughly $100 million within 45 minutes of the launch.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club sold over 55,000 Otherdeeds and raised above $300 million when the sale was over. The sale was a massive success for the team, but the experience was bumpy, with skyrocketing mint prices and failed transactions for many. The demand was such that it even crashed Etherscan.
Post the sale, the team also addressed the need for it to deploy Apecoin on a different blockchain and promised to refund the gas fees for the failed transactions. The entire BAYC community is super excited about the announcement even since the team announced the sneak peek.
