The Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Champion Sportswear collaboration push has been ongoing since early February. In a recent tweet by the prominent clothing brand, Champion may have teased a confirmation regarding a possible collaboration with SHIB.
Champion took to Twitter to say that the time to buy new workout clothing is here, and that they were talking to “you”. It is not clear as to who they might be implying to, but it could be speculated that this may be inclined towards the SHIB Army. Additionally, the comments are full of Shiba Inu collaboration replies.
A Twitter user named SHIB HEAD was the first to conceive the idea of the Champion and Shiba Inu collaboration. In the SHIB-sphere, his tweets went viral, and a flood of other fans joined in. SHIB HEAD sent out another tweet on February 19th, requesting that the SHIB Army establish a #CHAMPIONxSHIB campaign to help promote the idea.
Shiba Inu X Champion collaboration soon?
Champion is owned by Hanes, and as reported earlier, top executives from Hanes had been viewing the campaigns run by SHIB HEAD and the SHIB Army. Michael Jarvela, Hanes’ Director of Licensed Product & Collaborations, was one of the top executives that looked at SHIB HEAD’s LinkedIn profile and campaign. The SHIB X Champion campaign was also seen by Jamie Wallis, Director of Global Communications at Hanesbrands Inc. Hence, it is not unprecedented that a Shiba Inu and Champion Sportswear collaboration is off the table. It is highly likely that a collaboration is on the way.
Moreover, SHIB has seen a large number of businesses accept the popular token as a form of payment. Shiba Inu is easily one of the most popular tokens at the moment, and the SHIB Army is without a doubt one of the most loyal and supportive fan bases out there. Not tapping into the potential of SHIB would be a loss for Champion, especially given the fact that it is the SHIB fan base that is the one calling for the collab.
