Shiba Inu has come a long way since its inception in August 2020. The token is transitioning away from its ‘meme’ tag by constantly finding a way to enhance its ecosystem. In that regard, 2022 was already a landmark year for Shiba Inu. The project has forayed into industries related to food, fashion gaming, and the metaverse. Here is a complete list of industries that Shiba Inu will continue to target in 2022.

Food Industry

Shiba Inu was trending at the start of the month after launching its first-ever SHIB-themed restaurant named ‘Welly’s’. The fast-food joint, which operates on blockchain technology, received a 4.9 rating from Google customers on its Naples outlet in Italy. The venture offers customers a unique way to interact with their SHIB tokens through purchases made at the restaurant. Through LEASH, Shiboshi holders would also have exclusive access to discounts, rewards, and other perks.

In collaboration with Shiba Inu, Welly’s has plans to expand globally in 2022 and 2023. The restaurant is also exploring franchise applications to enlarge its footprint in the food industry.

Gaming Industry

Plans to enter the gaming industry were laid back in November 2021 with Australian-based Playside Games. The main game is split into a classic mobile game and an NFT game that revolves around the Shiboshi NFTs.

The design for the soon-to-be-launched game is headed by William Volk, former head of Activision. The studio is most popular for the Call of Duty video game series. In the recent recent ShibaGuru AMA, Volk said ”I want to make clear this is not just a clone of an existing game. Collectible card game this is really kind of unique. Something that is very interesting about it is that it has a very sustainable economy. It includes for both the mobile game and for the blockchain game“.

Although the exact launch date is not revealed, the games were expected to be released before September 2022.

Fashion Industry

Shiba Inu ventured into the fashion industry through collaboration with Italian fashion designer John Richmond. The tie-up suggests that 10,000 John Richmond and Shiba Inu NFTs will be made available to the public. The new Shiba Inu themed-collection could feature on ramp walks as early as the Paris Fashion Week.

Although some Twitter users suggest that the apparel would immediately be available on the John Richmond store, the website was yet to feature the upcoming collection.

Metaverse

Shiba Inu’s metaverse push has been aggressive. The project revealed plans on its metaverse titled ‘Shiberse’ just last week. During the ShibGuru AMA, Shiba Inu confirmed that 99,0000 plots of land would be available for purchase on its metaverse. Details surrounding pricing will be available during the launch date.

The metaverse is filled with endless possibilities as developers virtual reality applications. Investment firm JP Morgan views the metaverse growing into as a $1 Trillion industry over the coming years.

At the time of writing, Shiba Inu was trading at $0.00002636, up by 10% over the last 24 hours.
