Rockstar Games’ sixth iteration of the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series has got gamers in a frenzy. Ever since the trailer for GTA 6 dropped in December 2023, the gaming community has been speculating on what the renowned game studio has in store for fans. One point of debate is how much will the next Grand Theft Auto game cost.
GTA 6 has been in development for almost 10 years. The previous entry in the series was released in 2013 and was sold for about $60 upon launch. Today, most AAA gaming titles are sold between $60-$70 for the standard edition, with special editions costing about $100.

According to some reports, Rockstar Games spent nearly $1 billion in development for the next GTA. On the other hand, GTA 5 was reportedly developed for about $250-$300 million. Gamers should not be surprised to see a cost of somewhere between $120 and $150.
When will GTA 6 launch?
According to the trailer released by Rockstar Games, GTA 6 will be out sometime in 2025. However, the game studio has not yet given an exact date. There is also a possibility that the next GTA title will be delayed.

Some reports claim that the next Grand Theft Auto title will be the last in the series. The game developer will reportedly keep updating the standard edition with new features and missions on a timely basis. However, there is no confirmation about this development from Rockstar Games.
