Axie Infinity allows players to mint money while enjoying the game. It is a blockchain game where players breed virtual pets known as Axies. And battle them with each other.

What is Breeding?

The offspring Axie can be helpful in battle, breeding of a new offspring. Alternatively, you can sell it on the Axie marketplace.

Breeding Axies is not a cheap affair. You will have to spend some resources.

To avoid over breeding, the devs have put some measures to manage the Axie population. Thus controlling inflation of the Axies and preventing the collapse of the game’s economy.

Breed Count in Axie Infinity

In Axie infinity, breed count refers to how many times an Axie has produced offspring. The maximum breed of an Axie is seven times.

Generally, the value of Axies degenerates as they breed. The more the number of times an Axie has produced, the lower the value it has. The Most valuable Axis are the Virgins, those that haven’t bred even once. 0/7 breed count.

What are Axie Genes?

All Axies have six body parts, with each part consisting of 3 different genes.

They include:

  • A Dominant (D)
  • Recessive (R1)
  • Minor recessive gene (R2)

When breeding Axies, there are corresponding changes of genes passing to the offspring Axie.

The chances correspond as follows: Dominant 37.5%, Recessive 9.375%, and Minor recessive at 3.125%.

What is Gene Mutation in Axie Infinity?

Despite the chances of passing genes to offspring Axie, there is a possibility for gene mutation.

This happens when a gene completely changes into a different body part, with no inherited characteristic from the parent.

With twelve genes, there is a 10% chance for the R1 and R2 to mutate. However, dominant genes have a 0% chance to mutate.

Significantly, there are probabilities of mutations happening.
