Ilhan Omar (D), the US representative for Minnesota’s 5th congressional district, disclosed her financial filing. The details reveal that her net worth has grown to $30 million since she first took office in 2019. The disclosure, filed in May, shows her net worth increased by 67% in the last six years. In addition, her husband, Tim Mynett, saw his net worth increase by 3,500% since 2004.
The gains have reportedly come from Mynett’s two business ventures, a winery and a venture capital firm. While the winery is Santa Rosa, California-based, the venture capital firm is headquartered in Washington, DC. The disclosure shows that Ilhan Omar has valued the winery assets between $1 million and $5 million.

Ilhan Omar Had Denied Previously That She’s a Secret Millionaire

The eStCru winery was valued at only $15,000 and $50,000 in Ilhan Omar’s previous disclosure filing. Mynett’s venture capital firm, Rose Lake Capital LLC, saw a bigger growth explosion, as the assets were valued between $5 million $25 million in 2024. According to the VC firm’s website, the company manages $60 billion in assets under management.
The VC firm states that they operate in over 80 countries with “deep global networks built from on-the-ground work in more than 80 countries working across business, politics, banking, and diplomacy.” It also states that it offers “expertise” in various realms, including “legislation.” However, Ilhan Omar had previously cried foul about her millionaire status, saying it’s a right-wing hit campaign.

“Since getting elected, there has been a coordinated right-wing disinformation campaign claiming all sorts of wild things, including the ridiculous claim I am worth millions of dollars, which is categorically false,” Ilhan Omar told Business Insider in February. She also called the claims “disinformation,” saying, “I am a working mom with student loan debt. I am not a millionaire and am raising a family while maintaining a residence in both Minneapolis and DC, which are among the most expensive housing markets in the country.”
