The NFT revolution hit the world hard. From celebrities to mainstream firms, everyone wanted to ride the NFT wave. Hoping on to the trend, Mark Zuckerberg affirmed the inclusion of NFTs shortly.

This doesn’t come as a surprise at all as every platform is eagerly getting onto the NFT wagon. Speaking at SXSW, Zuckerberg disclosed that his team was working on introducing NFTs to Instagram.

Users would reportedly be able to display their existing NFTs while being able to mint new ones.

He said,

“I’m not ready to kind of announce exactly what that’s going to be today. But over the next several months, the ability to bring some of your NFTs in, hopefully over time be able to mint things within that environment.”

He even shed light on the potential launch of the firm’s metaverse where these NFTs would entail a vital role. While further noting that Instagram was working on an array of technical aspects to roll out the latest addition seamlessly, Zuckerberg said,

“I would hope that you know, the clothing that your avatar is wearing in the metaverse, you know, can be basically minted as an NFT and you can take it between your different places.”
