Legendary Ridley Scott to produce movie about Ethereum’s origin

A new movie about the creation of Ethereum will be produced by legendary filmmaker Scott Ridley.

The movie is the adaptation of the book, “The Infinite Machine” by Camila Russo and describes how Vitalyk Buterin came up with the idea of Ethereum and its development.

British filmmaker Scott Ridley is one of the most successful producers of all time. He has directed Oscar-winning movies such as The Martian, Gladiator, and Alien throughout his illustrious career. With 80 Academy Awards nominations, Ridley has been able to prove himself to be one of the greatest movie producers with his quality production and consistency.

Apart from Ridley, the production crew includes Vera Meyer, Tom Moran, and Alejandro Miranda. Shyam Madiruju will adapt it for the screen and also direct it.

Camila Russo, the writer of the Ethereum-themed book was excited about this development and couldn’t hide it on Twitter.

According to the cryptocurrency journalist,

I can’t imagine a better team to turn the riveting story about the people behind the most revolutionary technology since the internet into a feature film that will capture the hearts of our generation.

Hollywood in crypto

Scott Ridley won’t be the first legendary filmmaker to get into the crypto scene. Earlier this year, Oscar-winning director Quentin Tarantino auctioned seven non-fungible tokens depicting fan-favorite moments from the Pulp Fiction. The NFTs also had personalized audio commentary by Tarantino.

The auction was done in partnership with SCRT labs, the developers of Secret Network. At the time, the CEO of SCRT Labs expressed their commitment to working with talented artists and providing a new way to release their works.

Also, legendary actor, Larry David, made an august appearance in a crypto ad for an FTX ad during the super bowl event.

There’s no information yet on when the Ethereum’s movie will be released or how it will be distributed. But it already involves two production companies, Scott Free and Versus Entertainment. So we can expect more updates in due time.
