The crypto-verse witnessed mainstream adoption this year. Prominent trading platform, Robinhood went on to onboard several new cryptocurrencies and expanded its presence in the market. Amidst this, discussions about Robinhood being acquired by crypto exchange FTX began making the rounds. While those rumors were put to sleep the platform embarked on a new journey. Earlier today, the platform welcomed Chainlink [LINK].

Robinhood took to Twitter and revealed that Chainlink would join the list of cryptocurrencies that have already been listed by the platform.

Bitcoin [BTC], Ethereum [ETH], and other prominent altcoins like Dogecoin [DOGE] have been on the platform for a while now. This year, after multiple appeals from the Shiba Inu [SHIB] community, Robinhood listed the meme coin. Along with this, the trading platform onboarded Solana [SOL], Compound [COMP] as well as Polygon [MATIC].

Now, expanding its portfolio, the platform added Chainlink.

Exchange listings have undoubtedly had an impact on the price of certain cryptocurrencies. Back when Shiba Inu made it to Robinhood, the meme coin’s price witnessed a significant spike. SHIB recorded a 35 percent surge in a single day.

Therefore, the community speculated a possible surge in the price of Chainlink. At press time, LINK was trading for $7.08 and was up by 4.26 percent over the last couple of hours.

The daily chart of Chainlink highlights the significant surge that the asset witnessed following the announcement.

While Chainlink continues to remain 86.75 percent below its all-time high of $52.88, the community speculates that the latest announcement would pave its way towards this number.

Additionally, the Chainlink community along with Robinhood were celebrating the news of the arrival of LINK. However, the CEO of FTX was busy brushing off rumors. The CEO of FTX Sam Bankman-Fried told Reuters that there were no discussions about the acquisition with Robinhood at the moment.
