The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has confirmed that the new chairman, Paul Atkins, will officially be present and speak at the agency’s next crypto roundtable. Indeed, they confirmed that he will give remarks at the event set to take place on April 25th.
According to the agency, the roundtable discussion will see this Crypto Task Force discuss digital asset regulation with a specific focus on custody considerations. Conversely, Atkins was officially sworn in this week as he leads the agency into a new era amid an ongoing pro-cryptocurrency policy shift.

New SEC Chair Paul Atkins Set to Speak at Crypto Task Force Roundtable
Since the start of the year, the SEC has undergone a massive transformation. With the return of US President Donald Trump, it has completely overhauled its cryptocurrency approach. Specifically, it has sought to embrace the development of the industry. Therefore, moving starkly away from former chair Gary Gensler’s regulation through enforcement approach.
A big part of the agency’s shift is connected to the arrival of a brand-new chairman. Now, the SEC has announced that the recently sworn-in chair, Paul Atkins, is set to speak at its upcoming crypto roundtable. Specifically, he will provide remarks at the meeting taking place this week.

Atkins will be joined by the likes of Commissioner Mark Uyeda and Crypto Task Force Chief of Staff Richard Gabbert. Moreover, his arrival comes the same week as its appointment was officially recognized. In his first statements as SEC chair, he signaled a continued pro-crypto shift.
“A top priority of my chairmanship will be to provide a firm regulatory foundation for digital assets through a rational, coherent, and principled approach,” Atkins said. “At the helm of the SEC, I can confidently say it is a new day. It’s time for the SEC to end its waywardness and return to this core mission,” he added.
Atkins is a long-time cryptocurrency advocate, and he is bringing that with him now. Moreover, he is set to further what has already been a notable move for the industry. His appearance at the upcoming roundtable should solidify that fact.
