Stimulus checks are not included in President Donald Trump’s spending bill that Congress passed on July 3, 2025. No Stimulus Checks in Trump’s Mega-Bill
The reconciliation bill doesn’t contain any stimulus check provisions at all. House Republicans managed to secure final passage by just a four-vote margin, and all Democratic members voted against it along with Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania and Thomas Massie of Kentucky. The bill focuses mainly on cuts to social programs, with about $1 trillion being pulled from Medicaid over the next decade.
DOGE Dividend Proposal Still Goes Nowhere
Trump’s earlier proposal for what he called a “DOGE dividend” hasn’t turned into any real legislation. The concept suggested using 20% of budget savings from the Department of Government Efficiency to fund stimulus payments to Americans. However, no legislative action has been taken to move this initiative forward at all.
Limited IRS Activity for Previous Stimulus Checks
Some Americans actually did receive stimulus payments in 2025, but these weren’t new federal relief checks. The IRS issued payments to taxpayers who had failed to claim Recovery Rebate Credits on their 2021 tax returns for previous stimulus programs. These payments were distributed in December and January, with eligible recipients receiving up to $1,400.
The deadline to claim previous stimulus checks through tax returns passed on April 15, 2025.
While federal stimulus checks aren’t being distributed right now, Alaska residents can still expect the 2025 Permanent Fund Dividend. This state-funded program provides annual cash payments to qualifying residents, with estimates ranging from $1,000 to $3,900.
Scam Warnings About Fake Stimulus Checks
Having no passed federal stimulus program yet, all the promises of 2025 stimulus checks are probably fraudulent. Fraudsters keep reaching out to Americans offering them money regarding fake stimulus funds, and they are anonymity asking some kind of processing fees or personal details.
