Will Dogecoin realistically sponsor this Formula 1 team?

Dogecoin founder, Billy Markus, has today taken to Twitter to reveal his interest for Dogecoin to be an official sponsor for the Haas F1 team. Markus asked his followers if any of them knew how much it would cost to undertake said sponsorship deal.

Haas has recently cut ties with one of their major sponsors, Uralkali, a Russian fertilizer company, in protest of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Haas has also terminated the contract of Russian driver Nikita Mazepin with the same regard.

Seeing the void, Markus, being empathetic towards the underdog, lost no time in speculating the opportunity. Dogecoin at one point in time was an industry underdog. It was a David among Goliaths. Hence it was only natural for the Dogecoin founder to want to offer a hand to the Haas F1 Team, who are also underdogs in their sport.

Haas is a fairly new team in F1 and has had a not-so-pleasant streak. Haas had scored 0 points since 2020, up until they did in the recent Bahrain Grand Prix in March 2022.

Dogecoin wants to join the league of sponsors?

F1 is no stranger to sponsors from the crypto space.

Crypto.com, the prominent crypto exchange, is a partner of Formula-1 and is also the title sponsor of the Miami Grand Prix, to be held in May. Moreover, it is a prominent backer of the Aston Martin team.

Alpine just announced the creation of a fan token on Binance. AlphaTauri, Red Bull’s sister team, has extended its partnership with Fantom, which was first announced in May 2021.

World championship-winning team, Mercedes had struck an agreement with FTX in September, while McLaren has a new collaboration with Bitci.com for 2022.

And lastly, Ferrari has teamed up with Velas Network from Switzerland.

Moreover, there is talk of Floki Inu sponsoring the Alfa Romeo F1 team, although no official statement has been made yet.

With so many crypto-related firms entering the sports arena, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Dogecoin make an entry. In fact, in my opinion, it would rather be welcomed. Dogecoin has a big fan following with names such as Elon Musk, YouTuber Mr.Beast, etc. all supporting the token. It probably is only a matter of time before we start seeing Dogecoin on some of our favorite cars.

At the time of publication, Doge was trading at $0.136317.
