Elon Musk is the most influential person in the crypto space and can sway the markets with mere tweets and statements. The Tesla CEO boosted Dogecoin’s price to $0.73 last year after he announced he purchased Doge in early 2021. While he is directly responsible for Dogecoin’s spike, Musk indirectly made Floki Inu, Shiba Inu, and other meme-tokens shoot up.
A string of meme-tokens sprung up in the market after Musk announced his support for Dogecoin. While we all know that the Space X founder owns cryptocurrencies, his ownership of NFTs remains to be a mystery.
In this article, we will discuss if Elon Musk owns NFTs among other investments that are worth millions.

Does Elon Musk Own NFTs?
Elon Musk has not publicly revealed that he owns NFTs. However, in March 2021, he tweeted that he wants to sell a Techno song as an NFT. The video song had the word NFT displayed on top and rotated across space. He captioned it, “I’m selling this song about NFTs as an NFT.”

The tweet prompted massive community reaction and NFT enthusiasts believed that Musk is entering the digital art space next. The tweet received hundreds of bids and touched up to $1 billion combined. However, both serious buyers and trolls made it to the comments section, and it was hard to pinpoint which bid was genuine.
An hour later, Musk tweeted that he isn’t interested in “selling” it and poured cold water on the NFT bidding war. “Actually, doesn’t feel quite right selling this. Will pass,” he tweeted.
Months later in December last year, he posted a meme that seemingly mocked the NFT culture. The tweet shows a man seeking medical treatment and Musk was mocked for making fun of mental illness.
However, he also commented on Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus’ tweet who called the crypto space a “scam” as “NFTs are jpeging the dollar.”
Going by all these, it is likely that Elon Musk owns no NFTs and sees it as a joke. We will know if he owns any NFTs only when he publicly announces his digital artwork collection.
However, Elon Musk is the star of the NFT space despite the memes he posted ridiculing it. A search on the NFT platform OpenSea for ‘Elon Musk’ shows that there are over 137,877 NFTs relating to him.
